Dr Anton Ravindran
Founding President & ED
Dr. Anton is currently the Founder CEO of edGICT, Founder & MD of BeyondSeed Malaysia and Founder of SmartLaw. He is also a Board Director at Veracity Group, Executive Advisor (Technology) at Asia Institute of Mentoring and Senior Advisor & Practice Lead at Digital Insights.
He has been in the IT industry for more than 3 decades and worked for IBM/SingaLab, CA, Sun Microsystems and Oracle before venturing into entrepreneurship. Subsequently, he won several accolades as an entrepreneur including the Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2005 & 2006 as well Singapore Indian Entrepreneur Award in 2006. Under his leadership as Group CEO & co-Founder Genovate operated in 17 cities in 7 countries, and won the Enterprise 50 awards for 2 consecutive years in 2005 & 2006. He has been featured on the Straits Times, Business Times, Channel News Asia, CNBC, and Peak amongst others.
In academia, he was a visiting Professor with the Institute for Research in Applicable Computing (IRAC), University of Bedfordshire (Luton, UK), Adjunct Professor at Birla Institute of Technology & Science Pilani, Dept of Management, Dubai Campus, and as Adjunct Professor - Faculty of Information Systems, Bina Nusantara University. He has also delivered guest lectures and keynote addresses at various institutions including the National University of Singapore, Indian Institute of Technology (Kanpur), Hanoi University of Science and Technology (Vietnam), Cracow University of Technology (Poland), and Ryerson University, (Toronto, Canada) amongst others.
He is currently the President of the Cloud Computing Chapter (SCS); a Member National ICT Standards Committee (Data & Cloud); and Chairman, of the Technical Committee for Work-Study Diploma in Cloud Management & Operations (Institute of Technical Education – ITE Singapore) amongst others. He also sits on the boards of companies as a director, advisor, and mentor. He holds bachelor’s, MBA, and doctoral degrees in IT as well as various industry certifications. He is a fellow of both the British Computer Society (BCS) and Singapore Computer Society (SCS), is also a Chartered Engineer (UK), and a Charter member of TiE.
He is the author of the book - “Will AI Dictate the Future?”. He also has edited and co-authored 5 other books on technology.
